Not half as excited as Garrido, who cracked, “It took us 15 minutes to figure out how to score Marlow’s hit (in the scorebook). We finally saw there is a home run column.”

There are some really big college baseball series going on this weekend.
none other than
Baylor at #4 Texas A&M Live Stats
Texas needs for A&M to take 2-3 from Baylor.

There's no video, if that's what you're asking.

Or maybe there is, actually. When I left earlier there was a softball game on, so I didn't figure LHN was carrying the baseball game too. I stand corrected.

Postgame Quotes: Kansas 7, No. 23 Texas 2
Kansas Head Coach Ritch Price
On winning in Austin on a Friday night:
“That’s a great performance by Frank Duncan. Anytime you go on the road and play somebody that’s in the Top 25, it’s a great win. Texas’ ERA is 1.37 at home, so you knew it was going to be a low-scoring game. That’s as fine a game as anybody’s pitched for me in the 10 years I’ve been at Kansas. Frank was absolutely special tonight.”
On Duncan pitching out of trouble in the seventh and eighth innings:
“After we put up four runs in the seventh and got ahead 7-0, I think he let his concentration down just a little bit. His warm-up pitches to start the inning weren’t good either. That was a big learning experience for him tonight. He went into the ninth inning at Oklahoma State with a 6-4 lead, and he wasn’t able to finish it. For his first time going nine innings, I think it’s a great step in his development.”
On Duncan getting his first Big 12 victory:
“He matched up with Andrew Heaney of Oklahoma State. I just read in Baseball America today before the game that he’s been named the Pitcher of the Year in the first half of the season. He’s a projected first-rounder. Then, he matches up with Michael Wacha of Texas A&M, who was runner-up for the Pitcher of the Year on the mid-year report. He’s also projected to be a first-rounder. That’s what it’s like when you pitch on Friday night in our conference. Frank’s been really good each of the four times he’s gone out there. It was great to see him get rewarded with a great win tonight.”
On the offense having six 2-out RBIs in the game:
“We did a great job of getting the lead-off guy on. Our short-game execution was fabulous in moving guys into scoring position. The most crucial stat in this game is 2-out RBIs. We got some huge 2-out RBIs today. It was awesome to see Kevin Kuntz clutch-up big time. He’s been in a little bit of a slump here the last two weeks, but he’s played outstanding defense. That was a huge two-run triple he picked up for us in the seventh inning.”
On what the victory says about the team’s progress:
“I talked about it with our club before the ballgame. This is our fifth (Big 12) series, and we opened up at No. 5 Baylor four weeks ago. We’ve gotten better each and every week of the last four. To come on the road tonight and finally win a road game against a nationally-ranked opponent speaks volumes about the progress this young team has made.
Kansas sophomore pitcher Frank Duncan
On defeating Texas:
It starts with mixing (pitches). Against a lineup like that – a perennial powerhouse and somebody with a legacy like they have here at Texas – they come out and they expect to win. Today, why not us? I just came out, mixed my pitches and (associate head coach Ryan) Graves did a great job of pitch-calling. Everything was working pretty well for me. It transferred on the mound. I kept them off balance.”
