Default Another one bites the dust...

One of the few things I like about Obama, his use of drones to take out the bad guys. In the Bush days if we'd done this there would have been those who would have claimed that he was just giving more fuel to the fire of the radical muslims. That we've made another martyr and that we create more radicals each time we do something like this...so be it is my opinion.

Quote:
A top al Qaeda leader and longtime Osama Bin Laden confidant with a $1 million price tag on his head was targeted in a U.S. drone strike this morning in Pakistan, according to a senior U.S. official.

Pakistan officials say that Abu Yahya al-Libi, second-in-command to current al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri, was among the 15 people killed when a U.S. drone fired four missiles into a suspected militant hideout in Mir Ali, a town in North Waziristan, at 5:30 a.m. local time Monday.

Second in command for Al Qaeda is always a good kill and I too applaud Obama for taking these guys out. It's true though if Bush had been doing this the MSM would be up in arms.

Bush was doing it, and no they weren't.

Drones weren't used to take out the bad guys during the Bush admin?

I don't know were they? If they were, did you support their use or did you claim that these "executions" from 5000 feet just created more militant terrorists?

Democrats (not sure if I should include you personally, I don't know) in general claimed that Gitmo just created more terrorists, so is a snuff from above better?

I'm glad he's using the drones, and if Bush did then good on him as well.

Your original claim implied that a) the Bush administration wasn't using drones to perform assassinations of top AQ leaders and if they had, b) there would have been *those* (I can only assume by those you mean liberals, Democrats, et al) that would have cried foul.

Both a) and b) are false. Bush did use drones and no, there were no significant Democrat or MSM movements that denounced the attacks.

BWG pointed this out.

Forgive TOK and Grad, it's physically impossible for them to say something good about Obama without also working some sort of swipe at the left into the picture.

Hell, they could be part of the administration with that skill.
