You tagged any rats yet, Duke, or are you going hunting this weekend?

I still haven't zeroed the scope yet. I've been busy with home improvements and out-of-town visitors. Hopefully I can do it soon. I did throw a rock at one last night.

The scope might still be useful if the out-of-town visitors overstay their welcome, eh?

Dammit, es. You and I think alike. I saw the bit about Duke having visitors and I thought, "What a fine opportunity to sight the scope in." And I was all ready to post my pearl of wisdom to Duke and then I see your post. You bastard.

With my experience, they don't hold up well to a 180 grain bullet shot from a .300 mag. Sorry, that's all I know.

Little update. I've just finished building my patio and the garden is booming. So the rats are making frequent visits. They're getting bold, too. Still haven't hit one with the gun but I have new bait: antifreeze. F*ckers love it. I put one right near the crevice where they enter, and it was quaffed with abandoned. For various reasons, it didn't work out last night, but I should get a clean shot on one soon while they sit at the antifreeze lounge.
Also, the bobcat was misguided. I'm now pretty sure I need to build a house for a barn owl. Those things are killers.

And this is how the world's first zoo began...

There's nothing about this post that isn't funny.
What made you decide to put out anti-freeze? And, you might also consider getting a snake.

People keep asking me about how I decided to put out antifreeze. I always thought it was common knowledge that 1) it will kill any mammal that drinks it, and 2) mammals seem to love it. Perhaps growing up around rednecks who tried to poison my family's dogs is why I know.
The barn owl idea may not actually work after doing a little more research.
I did order some coyote and fox piss, however. It's en route.
But my ultimate goal is to still shoot one of these f*ckers in the face. Then I'm going to leave him there to attract his friends just like the sniper in Full Metal Jacket.

I'm glad you finally came up with a believable excuse for your predilection to dressing like a 12 year old Vietnamese girl.

Was not aware that mammals love anti-freeze, but good to know. I might try the next time I have a mole in my yard. That's if the snake in my yard doesn't get it first.
Excellent plan on using the dead f*cker as bait to lure his friends into your kill zone.

I don't need anymore of an excuse than it just makes me feel pretty. I'm entitled to that.

DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD, THE WICKED WITCH, THE WICKED WITCH, DING DONG THE WICKED WITCH IS DEAD!
One confirmed kill tonight, gentlemen. Possibly three, probable two. Two are behind the tomato plants so I'll have to see in the morning. Hearing the squealing was more euphoric than a Charlie Sheen breakfast.
I will continue the hunt another time. The prey is plentiful and the hunter is determined and keen. The f*ckers must die.
I'll try to post pics tomorrow.

Only one kill. Just a junior guy. I know I hit two others because of the delightful screams, but they were bigger and I must've hit them in the back. I'm please to know they're getting gangrene somewhere. I tried to upload a picture, but the site timed out trying to load it. Is there some specific format I need to put it in?
