I'm kind of thinking the old man's daughters would work better and I don't have to worry about one of their bad ass officer guy friends. Another thing I don't get--she's one of the last women on the planet, living day to day--why all the drama? At this time, it's safe to suspend the whole religious dogma and party. Unfortunately for her son, the only girl his age was just shot emerging from the barn.

Now that I've read some of the comics, I agree.

Amongst other things. The characters are different in many ways, and several of them come/leave the story when they don't in the show. Rick's a darker character, Hershel's a completely different person, and there are important characters that don't even show up in the show.

Three pages of how bad The Walking Dead is; that's got to be some kind of record.

Carl is one dumb kid. He needs to be eaten to weed him out of the gene pool.

That's another character they've screwed up on the show. He's so much more self-sufficient in the comics; he's like an adult in a child's body. He actually kills one of the other significant characters when that person is about to kill his father. It's possible that happens down the road since they're doing all sorts of crap out of order in the show, so I won't mention who it was.

It's like the writers are trying to make me hate the main characters and to root for them to get offed.

Whiney, self-righteous Dale has been needing to go for a long time. I was actually somewhat surprised that they killed him off. I thought it more likely that the rest of the group would eventually grow so tired of his whining and moralizing that they'd just banish him.

I've been tired of Lori. Recidvist idiots don't deserve to survive in the Darwinist zombie apocalypse, even if they are married to Rick. Same goes for Andrea. The minute she shot Daryl, she should have been expelled. That group needs a trigger-happy civil rights lawyer like a Kardashian needs more backyard.

Now, they're making me hate Carl, too. Being 11 years old is an excuse for being naive, but it's not an excuse for being monumentally stupid or a mean little prick. I'm thinking that a real rural Georgia sheriff would have had more than just a "talk" with a son who behaved that way.

The only compelling characters left are Rick, Shane, and Daryl. Maybe Glenn and Maggie, now that Glenn appears to have wised up (with some help from Herschel). It also strikes me as funny--in a South Park or Family Guy kind of way--how T-Dog has been reduced to a mere token role.

I think you'd like the comics a lot more, honestly.

I giggled at the 'debate' scene when T-Dog didn't say a single word for exactly the same reason. He's become this show's 'red shirt engineer' guy, it's inevitable he's going to get killed somewhere soon. He's not even really in the comics, unless they're basing him off Tyrese in which case they've done an abysmal job. Tyrese is arguably Rick's right-hand in the comics, a former NFL player that can seriously wreck shop in a fight.

My guess(and it's just a guess, this isn't from the comics): Daryl dies in a couple episodes while looking for his gun on that bike.

Yeah, when Andrea made the comment about how they couldn't put Randall in "shackles," I was waiting for at least a comment or facial expression from T-Dog. They're on a plantation in Georgia! But, nothing. I don't know what he adds to the show, other than being the guy who piles up the dead zombies for burning.

I can understand how Rick has difficulty killing somebody of questionable motives but why can't he at least put one of his own out of their misery? And Dale of course decides the safest place to walk in the zombie infested world at night is through the fields. I don't quite understand how this raspy, stinky fella comes to sneak up though.

I will say this for Daryl: he is at least partially responsible for my recently renewed interest in bowhunting.

Was anybody else at least halfway expecting the zombie-mauled cow to turn into a zombie cow?

thought the same and also think the next season is going to be about meeting up with the other group so it may not be a zombie that does Daryl in while looking for his pistol.

Expecting, no; hoping, YES.
