Bin Laden Photos; the Most Transparent Administration in History
The President said he would have "the most transparent Administration in history". Yet, he won't permit the American People to see photos of a dead Bin Laden? In other words, the President thinks that we peasants should not see something so gruesome as this. The blatant hypocrisy never ceases to amaze me. And the President's argument is that it could further inflame Muslim feelings against America? As if putting a bullet in Bin Laden's head would not have already done that? Besides that, the President said on Monday that Bin Laden was not a Muslim leader anyway; so why are we worried that the display of these photos would further alienate Muslims?. I am so sick of the arrogance that the Obama Regime displays towards "us peasants".

There's no reason to release them. The only visual proof you need that he's dead is the POTUS going on live TV saying he's dead. That's not something you make up, no matter what political party he's affiliated with.

Again, that goes back to the arrogance of the Obama Regime.

I guess you want the WH to release all of the details of the operation, just for the sake of transparency. I don't agree with everything the president does, but I wholeheartedly agree with this. There's no reason for those pictures to come out. If you don't believe OBL's dead now, how's a picture going to change that?

Unbelievable.

I think it's time to pat Obama on the back for a job well done and move on to issues that matter, i.e., his deficits and economic policies.

Are you aware that quite a few Republican senators, including John McCain, believed we should NOT release the photos?
(Sorry, wouldn't want such news to break your poor little partisan heart.)

Once upon a time "peasants" were allowed to watch executions live (the very gruesome torture/executions of the Dark Ages were like a festival) ... thankfully, civilization has come a long way since then.

You're kind of new on the politics board. I invite you to leave at any time. The inn is already full of irrational, partisan idiots. Good day, sir.

Transparency is not an absolute virtue. While it is a worthy goal for a democratic government, it must be balanced against other legitimate concerns (e.g., security, diplomacy, etc.).
I agree with the Obama Administration's decision not to release the photos. Nothing good can come of it. And, no, I don't regard slack-jawed, morbid curiosity as any kind of "good."

Wow! Duke Silver obviously didn't get the Obama Regime memo on civility.

Agreed, what were your thoughts on the push for release of the Abu Ghraib photos.

Different story entirely. In Abu Ghraib, we had amazingly inappropriate crap going on, with United States military members degrading and violating prisoners. It was criminal behavior, something that needs to be exposed and punished. Those in charge should have been also.
There is no reason to release photos of bin Laden just to satisfy prurient interests of some Americans.
And there is real proof it wasn't faked. If they had faked it, and not really killed the guy, we would have already seen videos and audiotapes of him clowning Obama and the rest of us. It would have been priceless for him. There's zero chance we would have faked this for that reason.
So there's no reason to show the pictures.
