This is by no means an exhaustive list of players to watch on this season's Texas Juco teams, but these are some of the names that most jumped out at me when I was scanning current Juco rosters in the state. Cisco has not posted its roster as far as I can tell.

    Blinn College

LB Mykel Gates - Three-star recruit in the 2018 class. Had a decorated career for state-winning Carthage teams, made 165 tackles and 20 tackles for loss as a senior. Listed at 6'1" 221.

WR Danny Gray - A former Missouri commit from Dallas Madison. Averaged over 20 yards/catch in both his soph and junior seasons but apparently didn't play as a senior. Won the 100m at the 2017 3A state track meet (10.70).

WR Antonio Gage - A teammate of Gray's at Madison, a three-star 2018 recruit with a dozen reported offers. Played a variety of positions and finished his career with 2,706 combined passing, rushing, and receiving yards and 30 total TDs.

RB Carlos Grace - a star RB at Crosby High, backfield teammate of current Baylor freshman Sqwirl Williams. Ran for 1,192 yards and 11 TDs in ten games for Blinn last fall.

OL Garrison Tullos - an all-state tackle and center for 2A state champion teams at Bremond, spent his senior year playing tackle at 5A College Station. Started at center for Blinn a season ago. Listed at 6'3" 290.

OL Garrett Nickelson - Younger brother of former Longhorn tackle Tristan Nickelson. True freshman qualifier, listed at 6'5" 290.

TE Rhett Read - A one-time Army commit in the 2017 class. Went to high school at Leon HS in Jewett, played in a wing-T offense as a junior, then as an inside receiver in a spread offense as a senior and had some nice film. Blinn has a run-heavy offense and doesn't feature its tight ends as receivers, so most of his Juco Hudl is blocking clips but he wouldn't be out of place on a lot of G5 rosters. Had an offer from UTEP last December but elected to return to Blinn. Listed at 6'4" 230

    Kilgore College

WR Omar Manning - Top-25 in-state recruit in 2017 class, composite four-star prospect. Redshirted at TCU in 2017 and announced transfer plans in July.

LB Reshawn Parker - 2016 Oklahoma State signee, high school teammate of Longhorn Montrell Estell. First team all-district at both RB and LB as a senior at Hooks.

    OL Derek Brown
    - played on the O-line for some very good Katy teams, signed with Prairie View A&M in 2015 and played two games that season as a true freshman. Don't know where he's been since then but he's listed as a soph.

    Navarro College
WR Jared Wyatt - former star WR at Wylie East and a 2016 Bowling Green recruit. Caught 4 passes in 2017 as a redshirt FR at BGSU.

RB Travell Lumpkin - 2017 three-star recruit from Cibolo Steele. Reportedly had three FBS offers, ran for 15 TDs as a junior but had a mediocre senior season. Had 51 carries for 206 yards for Navarro last fall.

QB Zadock Dinkelmann - former BYU commit in the 2018 class, also famously committed to LSU as an 8th grader. A member of the Detmer QB family.

QB Michael Massarella - 6'3" 220, produced over 11,800 total yards and 163 TDs in three seasons at Houston Northland Christian (TAPPS Division III). Signed with Houston Baptist in 2017 but did not appear in a game that season.

LB Ashton Smith - S/LB hybrid out of San Antonio Stevens, once recorded a 100.29 SPARQ score and reportedly had a Baylor offer at one time. Did not sign with anyone as a senior in 2017, listed as a true freshman on Navarro's roster.

LB Kody Fulp - Former China Spring standout, redshirted as a true freshman at North Texas last year.

OL Josh Cooper - Committed to Mississippi State in 2017 but apparently didn't qualify. Played left tackle for Navarro in 2017. Massive guy, once recorded a 90.45 SPARQ score while checking in at 6'7" 355. Navarro's roster lists him at 6'6" 340. I talked with him briefly at a SPARQ event in the spring of his sophomore year and he was huge then too but very athletic for his size. I think he had to sit out his sophomore year of HS after transferring schools. Graduated from Haughton in Louisiana.

OL Michael Fletcher - Composite three-star recruit in the 2018 class from Waco La Vega, reportedly had offers from UNT and Tulane. Listed at 6'6" 305.

    Trinity Valley Community College
WR Reggie Hemphill-Mapps - former Texas wide receiver

CB Eric Cuffee - former Texas cornerback

OL Kenneth Pleasant - Was a three-star recruit in 2017 class from Katy Seven Lakes with some 20 offers.

OL Tyler Castenada - The spelling of the last name is different but I'm guessing this is the Tyler Castaneda from Round Rock who was at one time committed to Texas Tech's 2017 class but de-committed and spent last fall at Ellsworth C.C. in Iowa.

OL Josh Donovan - A composite three-star recruit in the 2017 class from College Station, was a North Texas commit at one time. Reportedly was offered by Arkansas during the summer.

    Tyler Junior College
WR Davion Curtis - former Longhorn wide receiver and Temple HS standout.

TE Jacob Kainer - played QB and TE at Cypress Woods, had some D1 offers in the summer before his senior year but missed most of the 2017 season due to injury.

RB Trenton Kennedy - Star at Cy-Fair, had over 2,100 yards from scrimmage and 29 TDs as a senior and had offers from Purdue, Tulane, and UTSA. Listed at 6'1" 215.

OL Dan Wilkins - An Australian native and rugby player who only took up American football about four years ago. He spent a semester at Juco North Dakota State College of Science but transferred to Tyler JC in 2017 after a coaching change. Had a promising freshman year at Tyler last fall, playing both guard spots. Listed at 6'6" 312.

WR Mekhi Colbert - Big-play receiver on Carthage's 4A state championship teams who also made all-state as a defensive back in 2017.
