I wrote a while back about the ever changing recruiting dynamic. I noticed the trend of early offers in the Southeast and figured the trend was heading our direction. Sure enough, kids in Texas are receiving offers at an alarming rate.

I'll list most of the big names here along with their offers so you can get an idea of which kids are in the most demand at this early juncture.

To underline how rapidly things are changing, I think Jake Raulerson's only offer at this same point last year was SMU.

Cameron Robinson/OT, Ouachita Parish (Monroe, LA) = Alabama, Arkansas, LSU, Michigan, Texas (unofficially)

Hoza Scott/LB, La Porte = Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M (I believe he has more that haven't been reported yet and I think UT has already told him he'll be offered in February)

Nick Harvey/DB, Lancaster = Arkansas, Baylor, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Virginia (He also claims a Florida offer)

Darrion Johnson/CB, Brenham = Oklahoma

Derick Roberson/DE, San Antonio Brennan = N/A

Demetrius Knox/OT, Fort Worth All Saints = Alabama, Nebraska, Ohio State, Texas (unofficially), Texas A&M, Texas Tech

Ronald Monroe/QB, Fort Bend Bush = N/A

Solomon Thomas/DE, Coppell = N/A (His coach tells me he's been offered by nearly every school that comes through. I'm not sure why that's not reflected in any database)

Varshaun Nixon/RB, Austin Lake Travis = Clemson, Texas A&M, Texas Tech

Edward Paris/S, Mansfield Timberview = Clemson, Georgia Tech, LSU, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Purdue, Texas A&M, Virginia

Jerrod Heard/QB, Denton Guyer = Nebraska

KD Cannon/Ath, Mount Pleasant = N/A

Cedric Collins/CB, Dallas Skyline = Baylor, K-State, Texas A&M

James David/LB, Rockdale = N/A (His last name certainly isn't helping things)

Josh Mabin/LB, Klein Oak = N/A

Zach Whitley/LB, Galena Park North Shore = N/A

Samaje Perine/RB, Pflugerville Hendrickson = N/A

Cameron Hampton/LB, Dallas Carter = N/A

Dequone Shaw/DE, Dallas Roosevelt = N/A

Armanti Foreman/Ath, Texas City = N/A

Tony Brown/S, Beaumont Ozen = LSU, Miss St, TCU, Texas A&M

Chris Hardeman/CB, Alief Taylor = LSU, Miss St, Nebraska, OK State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, SMU, Utah, Texas Tech, Purdue, Kansas

Keenen Brown/WR, Alief Taylor = Indiana, SMU

Nick Watkins/CB, Dallas Bishop Dunne = Alabama, Arkansas, SMU, Texas A&M

Devion Hall/DB, Texarkana Liberty-Eylau = N/A

Arrion Springs/S, San Antonio Roosevelt = N/A

Brandon Simmons/CB, Mansfield Timberview = Arizona State, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Ole Miss, Purdue, Temple, UCLA, Virginia

Donald Catalon/RB, Aldine Eisenhower = Texas Tech

Jamal Adams/S, Carrollton Hebron = Kentucky

Aaron Sharp/QB, Humble Summer Creek = N/A

Jovan Pruitt/G, Dallas Bishop Dunne = Colorado State

Patrick Mahomes/S, Whitehouse = N/A

Some things are already becoming pretty clear. Cameron Robinson, Hoza Scott and Demetrius Knox will be publically offered in February but have already been given the wink offer. It would not surprise me one bit if Harvey was told he sits in a favorable position after he camps at UT in June.

I'm also nearly certain that Jerrod Heard will be UT's QB take, and that's a good thing.

Defensive back is loaded but I don't think UT will aggressively pursue Edward Paris based on some conversations I've had with him. That one has the sound of an LSU vs. USC battle.

There are so many bodies at DB this year (I'll highlight a few this week) so it will be tough to see which direction they go with offers but we should have a better idea after the June camps. Keep in mind that we've learned Nick Harvey, Chris Hardeman and Cedric Collins will get the first DB evals.

Thanks to the Highwayman for helping compile this list.
